Turning Forty: Making Colloidal Silver Part of My Routine, Part I

Turning forty is a big deal no matter how you slice it. I remember very clearly thinking how old forty was when I was a teenager; I couldn’t imagine ever being that old when thirty seemed so very far away. It’s funny how fast it happens – how you turn around and a decade or two has gone by with barely a whisper. Now, of course, forty seems like the prime of life (and even if it’s not true I vow to tell myself that every day). More than anything I wanted to celebrate this birthday with the peace of mind that comes with really taking care of myself and I made steps towards that for a year prior to this big day.

This was a lifestyle overhaul for me to be sure. I had not spent too much time thinking about what I ate because my weight was never too much of an issue. So I was surprised to learn that I could be thin and still have high cholesterol and high blood pressure. Obviously my eating habits needed to change. And I turned to something I love in order to introduce more physical activity into my life – dance. I was giving myself gifts this coming birthday and they were long overdue.

I also gave myself the gift of colloidal silver; something that my grandmother swore by (and since she was well into her nineties, who was I to argue?). She had been taking colloidal silver for years and years; she says that doctors used to prescribe it for everything from skin rashes to chronic infections. The power of it is in the silver itself – a powerful benefit of nature that helps the body heal and protect itself.

I am a firm believer in trying everything at least once and so I gladly adopted colloidal silver into my lifestyle. And, as it turns out, it has been the very best gift I could have given myself on this milestone of a birthday. More in the next post…
